On 6 February 2023, two major earthquakes hit southern Turkey and northern Syria. While the disaster has affected people of all ages, older people are amongst those most at-risk right now.
- Many will have lost family and have no support network
- They may have mobility problems which make it difficult to reach aid distribution points
- They may have health conditions which make their situation even more challenging

Right now, Age International’s partners in Turkey and Syria are working tirelessly to support older people and their families affected by the earthquakes.
Your kind donation will help give aid that is tailored to the needs of older people and their families. This includes:
- Cash payments to older people so they can buy the things they need
- Mobile health clinics for older people to receive care in their homes
- Safe shelter, including emergency tents, blankets and mattresses
- Food kits tailored to the nutritional needs of older people
- Mental health support to older people so they can recover from the trauma

Age International is raising money together with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) for the DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
