Turkey Syria Earthquakes - 6 Months On

Today, Age International launches a new interactive feature to mark 6 months on from the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
In the early hours of 6 February 2023, during freezing winter weather, a devastating earthquake hit southern Türkiye and northwest Syria.
The magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 earthquakes, along with subsequent aftershocks impacted 18 million people who live in the region.
It is estimated that over 50,000 have been killed, and many older people were left in the cold without shelter.
